Object Story by Caroline Oduro:
"Traditional cloth dress with embellishment, can be worn for any occasion. This is donated by my aunt Miriam Agyemang. What is unique about this dress is the man playing a traditional instrument from West Africa, known as storytelling – a unique way of communicating with the locals. She would wear this here in Edmonton when the summer is here, in celebration of the summer season and as a remembrance of back home. She would wear this when home sick, as a way of connecting back to her roots. Made in Ghana by one of the local seamstresses. It is over 20 years old – she has been wearing this for all these years.
